FR : Femme Noire, Française, Immigrante et jeune maman…. C’est comme ça que commence mon podcast, une façon pour moi de présenter toutes les facettes de mon identité et ce que chacune d’elles implique. Mon nom est Michelle Camara, je suis arrivée à Montréal en 2016 dans le cadre d’une mission de deux ans dans le réseau diplomatique français. En 2018, je réalise mon rêve – et un peu celui de mes parents – de m’installer à Montréal, pour une durée indéterminée. Depuis, j’ai fait mon bout de chemin ici, tant au niveau personnel que professionnel. Ma famille s’est agrandie! Je suis aujourd’hui maman d’un petit canadien, ce que j’ai de plus précieux. Tidiane est une belle concrétisation de mon histoire d’amour avec ce pays, qui ne m’a pas vue naître mais qui m’a fait grandir! Fière de mes origines, mon éducation et mon parcours j’aime à partager mon univers de femme rêveuse et ambitieuse en quête de sens. Aujourd’hui, je me spécialise gestion de la diversité et stratégie d’inclusion dans les organisations. À mon échelle, je travaille à changer la société pour que mon fils ait un parcours bien différent du mien mais tout aussi enrichissant.
CA : “Black woman, French, immigrant and young mother”… This is how my podcast begins, a way for me to unfold all the facets of who I am and what each of them entails. I’m Michelle Camara, and I landed in Montreal in 2016 as part of a two-year assignment in the French diplomatic network. In 2018, I turned my dream – into reality by making the move to Montreal for an indefinite period. Since then, I’ve made significant strides both personally and professionally. My family has expanded, and I’m now the proud mother of a little Canadian boy, my most cherished human on Earth. Tidiane is the beautiful embodiment of my love story with this country, which didn’t witness my birth, but played a crucial role in my growth. Proud of my origins, education, and background, I enjoy sharing my world as a dreamy, ambitious woman in search of meaning. Today, I specialize in diversity management and inclusion strategies for organizations. In my own small way, I’m working to change society so that my son can have a distinctly different but equally rewarding life.
